Fighters Rules of Muay-Thai
You MUST always ask the teachers or seniors if you do not understand any of the techniques. When you do not understand try to do it perfectly. Do not forget that nothing comes easily, that things should be done by yourself with patience, hard and regular training.
The UK Muay-Thai Fighters Kick Boxing Rules
1.
DO NOT take your eyes off your opponent, psychologically never look at the point you mean to attack. Some teachers taught to only look in the opponents eyes but that is wrong.
2.
Do not drop your guard (ever) when you are attacking
3.
Do not bring your feet together because of no balance and difficulty to make an attack.
4.
DO NOT turn your face away when attacking
5.
Do not tense your muscles until you are ready to attack
6.
Do not turn your back towards your opponent, unless you want to make a reverse attack.
7.
Do not use the techniques which you have not learned without perfection
8.
Do not let your opponent attack all the time, you MUST attack before they do
9.
Do not side step widely or too far while the opponent attacks, you must be able to attack back as fast as you can. The correct movements make you fast and give you many chances to attack back.
10.
Do not fight the opponent, who is taller than you with a long range stance, but concentrate on 'in-fighting*'
11.
Do not forget the opponent's favourite technique, try to destroy it by attacking that part of their body or try to move away from their best techniques, then try to change their fighting ways into your system
12.
Do not land with your feet away or too far from each other after you've made an attack
13.
Do not stand with a low stance unless you are very fast, because you may get a low-kick easily
14.
Do not listen to the audience when you are fighting in the ring, but always listen to the trainers and seconds
15.
Do not let the opponent know when you are hurt, if fighting in the ring you MUST try and clinch
16.
Do not stop the power at your hip when you are attacking
17.
Do not stand in the same position, when the opponent attacks with very strong blows
18.
Do not step backward when the opponent attacks with a front kick or straight punch very deeply
19.
Do not straighten your knees and flatten your feet when you are standing, be ready to move in any direction
20.
Do not lose your temper when the opponent intends to make you lose your control in your mind. Then you will be fighting carelessly
